You probably took a honeymoon but what about a babymoon? This is a wonderful time to spend with your spouse and relax before baby comes.
A babymoon is a vacation you take usually in the second trimester to take a break from all the baby stuff. A tropical vacation is nice, but you can also do a staycation. The important thing is to take time off and do it! Here are the top ten reasons why you want to take a baby moon.
1. No Strings
If you don’t have any children yet it makes this much easier. You may not feel like you have time to stop with all the baby stuff going on but you need a mental break. Life is about to radically change and you won’t be able to just pick up and leave like you can now. Go when your in your first or second trimester because when you get into your third you won’t really feel like traveling and airplane travel is not recommended when you are about to give birth. :)
2. Rest/Relax/Recharge
Getting a chance to just stop and relax is good for anybody. If you are getting ready to start this new journey you really need to stop and recharge and get some much needed mental time off. Parenting is exhausting and you won’t get much time to relax when baby gets here.
3. Quality Time
Having a baby can put a strain on couples. Everyone is sleep deprived and you can’t just go out for date night without having a ton of other stuff in place for the baby. Don’t forget to stock up on romance either! That will be few and far between for the postpartum part of your life.
Enjoy the time you have with each other as a couple because soon there will be 3 of you!
