How old should my child be for a sitter session?
Sitter sessions can be setup at any time, but they are usually between 6-7 months. At that point the baby can sit up unassisted and we don’t take the chance of them toppling over. They are very still for the most part which makes things a lot easier and they are now full of expression. Most babies have tons of smiles at this point and it makes for some very cute photos with some of their first teeth coming in and slobber face from the tons of drooling that’s going on.
Can we do family photos?
Yes, of course! Any siblings or parents may join the shoot. Siblings are usually done first and then the other parent can take them to do something else while we finish up the session with the baby.
What do I bring?
If there is an outfit that you would like to get photos you can bring that. I have a few knitted outfits and bonnets in my studio that can be used also. If they have a favorite toy that you do not mind being in the photo you should bring that as well. It incorporates memories of what they liked at the time and keeps them happy incase they are not interested in the session. At the end of the session I try to incorporate a jar of their favorite food and I let them feed themselves. It’s messy but a lot of fun. A spoon and jar of food if you want to do that part of the session is provided by you.
What do I wear?
Family members that are going to be in the photos should wear neutral colors with no patterns. Small kids can even go shirtless or I can wrap them in fabric to not distract from the kids. We can discuss any ideas that you may have for this session.
Will it be in Studio or Outside?
You have the choice of either coming to the studio and getting photos or going to a location that you would like to meet. There is only time for one or the other but we can always setup two appointments if you would like to do both. There would be two booking fees for two sessions. Any session anywhere other than the studio will be charged an extra fee.
What if my child is older than one?
If you would like to setup an appointment just to get photos of your child and it’s not in the first year that is also fine too. Some people get photos every year of their kids. There is no change in pricing for any age.
Why is the booking fee a separate charge from the products order?
Your booking fee is the cost for your 2-3 hours in the studio. It gets you access to the entire collection of newborn props and accessories. You also get a pre-session phone consultation to go over how you want your photos to look. You receive 25-30 proof images that are fully edited to view at your ordering appointment. Your second appt is where you decide on which digital files you would like to purchase and what art you would like to add to make your custom package.
