This beautiful little girl is named Coral. She was the first session I had after the lockdown. She was so sweet and what a wonderful way to get back to work with such a wonderful baby!
June 13th is International Albinism Awareness Day. I learned that there are 7 types of OCA and Coral is type A where she will never develop any pigment in her hair, skin or eyes. She has some vision issues that are not corrective and will be legally blind but she will be getting bifocals soon to help with the vision she does have. She is currently working with therapists and learning how to adapt with a life with limited vision. She did wonderful with her photo shoot looking at the camera. I guess I was super interesting. 🙂
Her moms message to others is to treat Coral and others like her equally even though her albinism makes her look and see differently.
I am so glad that I got to photograph this beautiful little girl and I hope to do it again in the future!
If anyone would like to read up on Albinism more here is a link that her mom shared with me.
